I believe that god is real. This is based on faith and not scientific principles however.
As scientists we spend our lives trying to explain the world around us and my faith helps me with what I can’t explain. However it’s important to respect other peoples idea of god and those who do not believe in god
I’m not particularly religious but to design something as elegant and beautiful as the periodic table is unlikely to have happened by chance. So is there a God or a creator is one of the biggest questions we as scientists have to ask.
I believe so, yes although this is a question for everyone to consider for themselves and make their own decision. I work in a multi-religious team and we are always all respecting of each other beliefs and also those who do not believe. This is not related to my work in science, something that I have decided and believe myself.
I don’t know. Much like theoretical physics, the existence of god is something that is much thought about and discussed, but has no real fundamental evidence. But just because I don’t have the evidence doesn’t mean god doesn’t exist- there is no fundamental evidence to argue either way. I like to keep an open mind.
I do believe in what we can learn though science though- everyday we get a little bit closer to finding out more about the universe, even if we end up with more questions than answers. But those questions keep us moving forward, keep us learning.
People often turn to faith for answers for answers for the unexplained… but I prefer the questions. Other people believe in God for hope, or for meaning on a personal level. I would never question the choices and beliefs of another person, as long as they believe in respecting other people no matter their background. I mostly go by “It’s nice to be nice”.
