Before I went to university I studied Chemistry, Maths, French and History- so you don’t have to always do all the sciences! At Uni I studied Chemistry, and spent my 3rd year (of 4) in industry working for the drugs company Pfizer, which was fun, and really helped my decide that I wanted to be a scientist that made medicines.

At school I studied English, Irish, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, French and Accounting. I think at UCC we have removed the requirement for the Irish language so normally English, Maths, a foreign language and a science (laboratory based) should be enough.
