        Thalidomide, it was “wonder” drug given to relieve morning sickness in the 50’s and 60’s but one of it’s components caused irreparable damage to children born afterwards. It is a lesson in not racing ahead without fully checking the implications and the only positive from this episode is that it is the reason why the pharmaceutical industry places safety above all.

        I hate the illegal drugs that not only put people’s lives at risk through taking them, but also through crime, like cocaine and heroin.
