• Question: Why do some planets and galaxies spin backwards?

      It all depends on perspective and what you consider as forwards and backwards. They might just be upside down!

      We are not sure about Uranus, I’m assuming thats the planet you are talking about as it spins on its side as all its moons also spin in that same sideways orbit! This is still one that NASA are investigating as with so much of science, they come up with a theory and then another group disproves it and it is back to their drawing board! As for galaxies, again we cannot be sure but we do think there could be inter-galaxy collisions that may have caused galaxies to appear anti-clockwise!
