I’m not sure if you’re talking about the theory or the TV show?
I haven’t studied either in detail. I have seen some of the TV show and didn’t like it so I’ll talk about the scientific theory.
The Big Bang theory is currently the most accepted theory for the origin of the universe.
The theory explains some observations which we can make today and also some observations support the theory.
      These observations include:
      1. The expansion of the universe – everything is moving away from everything else. So in the past the universe was more compact and hot.
      2. Cosmic microwave background – radiation left over from the Big Bang.
But we don’t have scientific theories to explain the very beginning and the Big Bang theory doesn’t account for everything – what are dark matter and energy?
If you were asking about the TV show – sorry.

Hi, like Stephen I have not studied this in detail either. The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation for how the universe began. Because astronomers cannot look back at the universe’s start, much of what we understand about the Big Bang Theory comes from mathematical formulas and models.

We have evidence for two things:

      1. The Big Bang Theory
      and
      2. The fact the Big Bang Theory TV show is crap.
