It does of course! In 2018 renewable energy sources accounted for 30% percent of our electricity supply. By 2030 the governments climate action plan targets 70% renewables on the electricity system. This target will be met mainly with onshore and offshore wind, and solar panels. Also in Ireland we have a lot of homes with fossil fuels as the heating source, a more sustainable solution is to use a heat pump.

Yes. The world has limited resources, it has taken fossil fuels about 400million years to accumulate and we have managed to use a large portion of that in the last 300 years! That’s not sustainable and we must move to a sustainable future or run out of resources!
On top of that Ireland imports 90% of its energy if the coal, oil and gas imports stopped coming into Ireland, it would affect our lives massively! Like how would we travel? How would we heat and power our homes?
