• Question: where have you gone for your experiments

      Being a geologist means you get to study rocks. But to study them, you have to get them first. This means a lot of geologists travel to very far locations to get them. The most exciting place for me personally was Svalbard, it is an island group in the Arctic not far away from the North Pole. But I guess the cake for going the longest distance to get rock samples goes to those guys who went to the Moon and brought rocks back from there.

      A lot of the work a geologist does is outside looking at rocks. I have been to lots of cool places to do this including the highlands of Scotland, Greece and the wilderness of Canada!

      During the summer I had the opportunity to visit Arnhem in the Netherlands, to see a circuit breaker test for a new High voltage direct current circuit breaker. But most often I am in the office!
