I think I became a scientist by mistake really. I didn’t know what I wanted to be until I went to college and started to study geology. It was so interesting I just wanted to learn more and more!
I enjoyed maths and physics in school, and liked solving problems. So I looked into engineering degrees. I suppose you could say I’m an applied scientist, where I’m applying my scientific knowledge to solve problems!
Being curious and trying to understand how things around work. There are also so many cool things and facts you can learn as a scientist. For example, scientists got some data from a space probe that took very distant measurements on Jupiter. From them they understood that atmosphere of the planet has a lot of carbon in it and it is under very high pressure. From that they derived that these are perfect conditions to form diamonds, meaning there could be literally raining diamonds on Jupiter. Earth and Universe is full of amazing things like that and being scientist makes it possible to study and explore them.
