Question: What's the most interesting thing you have learned from researching haptic

That’s a very good question. I will tell you few interesting facts about haptics:

1. Human beings are not the best animal in feeling touch and other sensations.
2. If you don’t have touch sensation it is almost impossible to any task, it’s called touch blind. Lighting match stick can take few minutes which can be done in few seconds.
3. It’s a very complex system, we feel touch, pressure, force, hot/cold and at what position, shape of the substance etc. etc. at the same time
4. We have mechano-receptors present beneath the skin(maximum of them are present at the palm of our hands) which acts as sensors in body to feel the above and our right brain controls the left part of our body and vice versa.
5. Touching in Virtual reality without touching physically is very challenging since this is a complex mechanism and has to be at the same time as seeing.

I am glad that you are interested in haptics. It’s really a very interesting area. It will help in future a lot, controlling robots, working in AR/VR, in Industries and medical applications.
