• Question: has your robot ever attacked you?

      Hi twxxtriona,

      Fortunately Janus is a very well behaved robot and only does what she is told. When Janus arrived in 2009 it took 2 engineers about 5 days to put her together and to make sure everything was working properly. Every year she gets a preventative maintenance service to make sure nothing goes wrong.

      I also received 5 days training by a qualified expert on using Janus and programming her to carry out the type of experiments we need to perform. This means that if anything does go wrong, it’s usually my fault because I haven’t programmed her properly, instead of Janus “going rogue”!

      However, on a couple of occasions, when i haven’t been watching what i was doing (normally on a Monday morning) I have bashed my head on her “Gripper” arm, which was really painful. But again, my bad…
