I look at the role human immune cells (your white cells) and human immune genes (your DNA) play in the fight against infectious diseases mainly HIV and Hepatitis C.

My Typical Day
Collect blood from infected patients in hospital, enter Category 3 laboratory facility, isolate white blood cells from whole blood. LUNCH. Use fluorescent labels to examine molecules on the surface of these cells. Compare this to healthy blood donors.
