I loved biology in school – I was mostly interested in the cardiovascular system. Even though I majored in University in Microbiology, as a PhD student I am now working on how microbes can attach the cells that line the blood vessels. Since blood vessels are the main building blocks of the cardiovascular system, I came full circle!
I did geology as an A level subject during Leaving Certificate, and it was so interesting. I especially loved learning about volcanoes and different types of magma formations.
I loved learning about the cardiovascular system in Biology. How the heart works to pump blood around the body….Amamzing! It’s a muscle that is constantly working, beating about once every second, and it never gets tired!
