Babies are pretty special. They’re totally new and so precious to their new parents but they are also so vulnerable and helpless. It feels good to be able to help them and their families. They are also really different to kids or adults when it comes to their bodies and how they work.
It can be really exciting and adrenaline-filled when there are emergencies, sometimes you have to do procedures which are very delicate and require lots of precision, and the variety of things that you can see is huge!
My work as a neonatal doctor is filled with excitement, joys and hardships and there are so many opportunities to do research in this field to help improve all the different aspects of caring for small babies.
