• Question: can lasers be dangerous or are they just made from light reflections?

      Lasers are made of high energy light. This light can damage the human eye and even burn the skin if powerful enough! We use laser microscopes sometimes to look at our cells but they’re not very powerful so we don’t have to worry about it damaging our eyes.

    Yes, lasers could be dangerous. The laser pointer you might see used for presentations won’t do any harm. However, If we were to remove the lasers from the machines where they are used to melt metal powders, then they could be harmful, yes. Lasers are classified for safety purposes based on their potential for causing injury to humans’ eyes and skin.
