Light, which is basically an electromagnetic wave that travels in space, and can be distinguished by the way it oscillates in space and time. Depending on the number of oscillations it does in a fixed amount of time, called frequency (if you translate this in space, you can call this wavelength).
Our eyes can see only light that is oscillating in a very particular range of wavelengths (or frequency), from 700nm (red) to 390nm (blue), and in this range, different wavelengths mean different color.
But light can oscillate at longer or shorter wavelengths than these, and our eyes cannot detect it (but our body can sometimes feel it).
The light of my lasers is in the 1500nm to 1600nm range, that means are it is oscillating more slowly than red (longer wavelengths mean lower frequency, they are inversely related), falling in the Infrared range.
I can see my lasers thanks to special cameras that can detect Infrared light.
