    Here’s a picture of my very first award in Science – from the Young Scientists’ Exhibition -I’m still really proud of this award.

     

    I did a study on bats with my friend Marie for this project and our school bought us some ‘bat detectors’ so that we could track the bats’ flight path at night. We spent a whole summer pointing these detectors at the night sky and mapping out the flight paths.
    Did you know that bats are NOT blind ? … it’s one of the many myths about bats.

  • My Typical Day

    I prepare for my classes, teach my students in class and in the laboratory and I write about the research and experiments I’ve performed.

  • What I'd do with the prize money

    I would buy an interactive touch screen for my department so that we could display all the amazing science that happens at DkIT.

    • How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

      Curious, Enthusiastic, Energetic

      What did you want to be after you left school?

      I wanted to be a vet before transition year but after spending a summer doing some cool science experiments I was hooked on Biotechnology.

      Were you ever in trouble at school?

      Me? No never…well maybe once or twice.

      Who is your favourite singer or band?

      U2, Coldplay and love anything energetic especially for running.

      What's your favourite food?

      Thai curry – ever since my hols in Thailand, I love making it and eating it.

      What is the most fun thing you've done?

      Snorkelling in Malaysia – it’s a whole other world of life and colour and amazing tranquility under water.
