A rainbows is one of nature’s most splendid masterpieces and shows us that visible light is composed of a spectrum of colours (wavelengths).

It happens on a rainy sunny day. It is a result of how rain droplets interact with sunlight.

Each individual droplet of water acts as a tiny prism that both disperses the light and reflects it back to your eye.
