• Question: is it a possibilty that someone could live on mars in a few years or so and is there more than one galaxy

      This is more Mark’s area of expertise than mine, but in answer to your second question, yes! There are literally billions of galaxies in the universe!

      In answer to your first question: I think it is feasible that we will have the technology in the not too distant future to get a human to Mars to live (in fact, I think there’s a privately funded project currently in progress whose aim is to get astronauts to live on Mars: http://www.mars-one.com/ ), but I’m not sure exactly what kind of a timeline we’d be looking at, and I’m also uncertain about how long it would be before you could expect a large-scale colony on Mars. If you are interested about the possibility of living on Mars though, I highly recommend you read the book ‘The Martian’ by Andy Weir (http://www.bookdepository.com/The-Martian-Andy-Weir/9780091956141?ref=grid-view) which is a thoroughly enjoyable read, with some very accurate scientific descriptions!
