Question: whats it like to work with children

I’ve never worked directly with children but I did work in a children’s hospital for a long time. I loved working there. There is a very special atmosphere in a children’s hospital, a feeling that everyone is working together for the best possible outcome for the sick children. Children have the most amazing ability to bounce back literally from deaths door and that is a fantastic thing to be involved in.
It was also heartbreaking, spending a whole night on call working on the bloods of a child who was in an RTA (road traffic accident) only to find out the next day that the have died. I worked many Christmas days in the hospital and the staff made the day as magical as possible for the kids. I never resented giving up my Christmas day to work.
