      While the main component of the milk is obviously water, with no colour, many bits of fat, molecules of proteins, lactose, minerals and vitamins are floating in there. They happen to reflect in a way that makes milk appear white. Skimmed milk can have a blueish tint since the fat would be missing and light reflects differently.
