I work for Armagh Planetarium. A planetarium is a theatre where visitors can enjoy entertaining and educational shows about the wonders of the Universe. The audience sits back in comfortable seats to watch as stars, planets and spacecraft are shown in full-colour on the surface of the planetarium’s
dome as narration, sound effects and music take the audience on a journey through space.
Many large cities now have their own planetarium. Armagh’s was the first planetarium in Ireland.
Throughout our history, Armagh Planetarium has been proud to be one of the most respected and
technologically advanced planetaria in the world. It’s a grat place to work.
I work in Trinity College Dublin in the Astrophysics Research Group. We have a nice office with some fancy computers to do simulations and data analysis of the Sun. We run the SolarMonitor.org website and also help with predicting solar flares for the Max Millennium project. It is a great group because we collaborate with other researchers in different disciplines (statistics, computer science) and so we are always learning more!
