Nope, unfortunately not but as I said, a lot of research is being done on planets and moons which harbour some life – sustaining conditions to look for extremophiles (little germy things that can live in very strange conditions that you or I would be toast in 😉 )
Recorded extra-terrestrial activity is unlikely, however people do make sensational claims from time to time.
Here is a recent one where a research group claim that aliens have arrived on a balloon they sent to the edge of the atmosphere. It was published in the newspapers, but it is unlikely to make a reputable science journal. One needs to be wary of science published in newspapers and popular science magazines.
There was the famous ‘WOW!’ signal recorded by the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence organisation (SETI) on August 15, 1977 in OHIO U.S.A. Th SETI team accounted for all man-made possibilities and everything else they could think of but it was still there. The guy who detected it was so shocked he simply wrote the word WOW in the margin of the data print out page. This is how it became known as the WOW signal.
Unfortunately we have never detected this signal again despite repeatedly pointing our biggest radio telescopes back in the same direction.
My favourite explanation is that we just got luck and picked up a transmission from one alien spaceship to another alien spaceship. This is why it was a one off, because the spaceships have now moved off.
The reality is that it was something else of a more Earthly nature though.
