Hi cbermingham,
We kind of invent things here at my research team. We come up with clever new ways to simulate instruments for space telescopes. We use computer programming to try to predict how the telescope will work, and then we try to improve the design. But I guess this is not really the type of invention you had in mind. I am working on a proper invention at the moment but unfortunately I can not tell you about it as it is top-secret!

We do research where I am, so what we are looking at has never been done before, so in a way, YES, I am inventing stuff.
