Do you mean the Big Bang? I guess we can’t say for certain, but there is a hell of a lot more evidence for the Big Bang than there is for god. But that’s not saying either one is true. I choose to believe in things that have evidence, but not everyone would agree with me.

I like to think that religion is the why and science is the how. I tend to be a somewhat skeptical person and I need to know how something is done before I believe it. So I focus on that. For example, I can’t just take something off the internet and put it in an essay unless I have thought about it and heard from other sources and have what I feel to be solid evidence that it is true. There is a lot of evidence to support the Big Bang Theory, so I would consider it a highly favored theory for the formation of the Universe. And hey, in that case, you could consider God to be the first electrically charged particle. But that is not to say there is not something else out there – I just won’t fully believe it until I get some evidence for it. That said, faith is a wonderful thing and anything that inspires you or gives you encouragement should not be thought of as silly. Believing in something that you have no evidence for is a wonderful trait and allows you to trust people and that situations will work out. Everyone needs to believe in something, but it’s a personal thing, entirely up to you.
