Good question! I’ve never really thought about that…I’m guessing you are referring to the two triangles lodged over each other? It’s kind of like how we say “woof” to represent a dog barking, which, to me actually sounds nothing like a dog barking…The points in our interpretation of a star are meant to represent how they twinkle or shine. If we just drew a circle, that would be very boring 😉 On that note, the Sun is often drawn round rather than the shape of a typical star and I guess that is because it is seen in the sky as very big and round in comparison to the other, further away stars. A lot of people don’t actually know that the Sun is a star and I’d say it has a lot to do with our visual interpretation of it!
