Hi Amyb, the answer to this is that we don’t know. Some scientists (non mainstream ones typically) think that consciousness could exist without a brain, although there’s no evidence that it does.
One thing I would say is that anyone who claims to know what happens after death should have some very convincing evidence to support their ideas!
