Hi 282susa26,
Great name, thanks for the question.
I would say learning new things is close to the top but at the top I would say learning surprising things – that wouldn’t be predicted or expected – would be the best thing.
Like when you plan an experiment and it absolutely doesn’t go as you expect. You then need to think again about what you thought you knew, and change your mind about what you’re looking at.

I think fitting the jigsaw puzzle together is the most fun! What I mean by that is putting together the clues, observations and experimental data together to give you an understanding about what’s going on!
A second part that I enjoy is that when you really get into a science subject, especially like chemistry, you’ll suddenly find out that you have more knowledge and experience of a particular reaction than almost anyone else! It might be a small niche area but being able to call yourself the world expert at a particular process is pretty intoxicating!
this is the best question today
In my opinion the most favourite part of science is the application of science so people can feel and see your work, such as in my case If I will success to apply the new fuel for cars then I will be very happy to see my research applicable.
I like the curiosity that science awakes in me. one experiment is only the gateway to a series of other possible experiments depending on the results. It’s like opening one box, only to find another box or two inside and you keep opening them till you find the answers that fits all the questions. That is so rewarding, the sense of accomplishment and the thrill of having unfolded a whole story (till the next challenge) is priceless. Like in the TV ad.
I find biochemistry the most amazing part of science. Since life is the most complex creation of the observable universe that works in tandem.
Yet we as scientists can re-create the basic building blocks in our laboratories and study them. This fascinates me as an organic chemist working in synthetic biology.
