I would say the best think is that it’s always changing. In research, if something interesting in the field comes along you can research it, if the field you’re researching gets boring you can stop and look at something new.
No two days are the same.
It’s the same with students – they are always different and have different ways of learning – so we’re constantly changing our teaching to mirror this.
I like the curiosity that science awakes in me. one experiment is only the gateway to a series of other possible experiments depending on the results. It’s like opening one box, only to find another box or two inside and you keep opening them till you find the answers that fits all the questions. That is so rewarding, the sense of accomplishment and the thrill of having unfolded a whole story (till the next challenge) is priceless. Like in the TV ad.
the best thing in research is to discover a new thing every day and how to use this to help the people by making the life easy
thanks for this brilliant question
The best thing for me is the constant interaction with new students. They seem to be getting younger every year but I’m afraid it’s me getting older instead! I feel they keep me young and up to date with what goes on, and I find fascinating how their learning methods and strategies changes overtime. I love that I can transmit the love I have for science and chemistry to others.
