I would love to have snow at Christmas but predictions so far from Met Eireann, would say no, no snow this year in December, your bets are better placed for February. Fingers crossed we all get snow days off school/work again!
Hardwater is when there is a lot of calcium in the water. So the calcium gets into the water because of the rocks that the water flows through. Softer rocks like limestone, very common in the middle of Ireland, give off lots of calcium and this can combine with other parts of the water. Permanent hard water won’t go away when you boil the water and temporary hard water goes away after boiling the water. This is because the calcium can form very sticky or soft bonds/attachments to the other parts in the water. The soft bonds are broken by heat.
