I analyze different things in water to understand how natural bays changes with seasons, tides and human influence.
For example, i analyze nutrients in water (nitrogen, phosphorus, silicate), measure its properties (quantity of oxygen in the water, pH..) and also other elements that allow me to tell how long river water and groundwater stay in the coast and how much groundwater sea water contains in a given location (radium, radon).

Hi free46cup, at the moment I work on a computer, but in the future, I would hope to work on some wave tank experiments to validate the work that I am doing currently on my computer.

I use different ways to concentrate the viruses from water and try to measure which concentration method gives me the most viruses. Testing DNA only allows us to take 0.5ml of water at a time, so if I take 10L of water I need a way to concentrate the viruses into a smaller volume. Makes sense right?

The other experiment I do is using different ways to sequence the DNA. So sometimes we measure DNA by light, fluorescence or sometimes by electric charge. Both methods work but they both have advantages and disadvantages. I want to know which method allows me to identify the virus with the least amount of error.
