I like it a lot, its fun. There is a big group of researchers here all working in different aspects of nutrition. Some of us use large databases of food intakes from dietary surveys to look at the links between food and disease, some people look at exposure to different chemicals, some people look at how to best collect dietary data (because not every is accurate when they tell you about their diet!). There are also intervention studies going on here, such as the cheese study, where we feed people things and look at the effects on the body. There are also people looking at biomarkers, to see if they can identify ways of assessing food intake simply by looking at a blood spot or at compounds in urine. So there are lots of different things going on and it is interesting to hear about the different areas. The group is really nice, we all tend to talk about food a lot as well, and we love to have some cake when its someones birthday. We probably eat more cake than we should!
