Ooo, depends on what I want to do. For easy city breaks, London is great, the Natural History Museum in particular, and if you like Harry Potter, there are loads of cool things to see and do. I also love Sweden and Finland- I was in Finland in January a couple of years ago for work and when we landed it was -29 °C!! It was so cold, my eyelashes froze, but it was incredibly beautiful. For sun breaks, I am in love with the south of France- sun+bread+cheese+wine=happiness!

Hi long08lockdown!
My favourite destinations are Mexico and Japan! Mexico has gorgeous unique historical sights, as well as wonderful watersports! Scuba diving there is amazing! Japan is a mixed bag of awesome, wonderful countryside and crazy cities! I love the food in both places, very different but super tasty!

I’ve traveled around a few islands in Greece and loved that part of the world. Really good food, lots of fun water sports and really hot weather! I’ve also been to a few cities in Switzerland recently and they are amazing. I went swimming in a lake in the middle of Zurich city, during a heat wave looking at snow still sitting on the peaks of the Alps. It was amazing. And I got to visit Albert Einsteins house while I was in Bern, another cool city in Switzerland.

I guess it depends on what kind of holidays I want. If it is for a short break, I love going to France because of the weather and food. I can’t have enough baguette!
If I get a longer break, this means going back home to Colombia and I LOVE IT. I always end up discovering new places back home. I think South America is one of those places where you can find beaches, forests full of wildlife, glacier and cities in the same country. Highly recommend it!

I’d always like to visit those cities in southeast Asia like Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hanoi. I watched a lot of travel videos filmed in those places – they have beautiful landscape and lovely street food.

I absolutely love to travel and have been to some pretty amazing places over the last few years but my two favorite holiday destinations so far have been Switzerland and Thailand! Switzerland for the hikes, amazing scenery and cows that wear the big bells on their neck so they don’t get long lost; and Thailand for the amazing culture, food and animals.

Every location has a story to tell! I love booking flights spontaneously when prices are low and figuring out what to do once I’ve got the flight. It makes it easier to explore new places I wouldn’t otherwise go! I ended up in Faro, Portugal early this year and it was fantastic – great food, beautiful rock formations and lots of amazing wildlife!

Oh wow. Where do you start with this question? I think it all depends on the time of year! In Winter skiing is great. When I was in third year in secondary school, our school brought us skiing in New Hampshire in America. It was a fantastic experience. I think summer is always good for sun holidays. I absolutely loved Spain when I was there. I was an Au pair for a family two summers in a row and I learned so much about the culture and they brought me to places that, as a tourist, you would never think to go. Oooohhhh they brought me down to Malaga for the last week to the beach and the kids were so excited to go into the water that they dragged me in the minute we got there and I totally forgot to put on sun cream. VERY bad idea in Malaga. Because I was in the water only my face and shoulders were burned. I looked very strange for ages afterwards. Moral of the story…always bring sun cream. When I am holidays, I always ask people from the area what are the best things to see as they always know the coolest and most beautiful places to go.

It’s hard to choose but there are a few places I would like to visit again, and that’s Japan, Portugal and Iceland. What is your favourite?

Mark Kennedy answered on 28 Apr 2020:
Currently, my favourite holiday destination is Ireland. Even though Manchester is only barely across the sea, it feels very far away (particularly right now), and even in the before times I didn’t go home as often as I’d like to have. So any chance I get to take holidays, I tend to go to either Cork or Tramore for a few days.
I have to admit, it’s rough being away from home right now.

Japan! I went there for the 2019 Rugby World Cup and it was the best place I’ve ever visited hands down!

I love to go anywhere the sun shines! I enjoy going to Spain and I love the food there too. One summer I went travelling around Thailand and that was my favourite holiday ever. Their culture is so different to European culture and it was so exciting to experience so many new things like food, religion, architecture, wildlife. There are lots of elephants in Thailand. I got to spend two days in a national park where the people who work there care for elephants and are passionate about conservation. Each elephant has a ‘mahout’ which is a very personal keeper that communicates with the elephant. An interesting fact we learnt is that Asian elephants don’t have tusks and African elephants do! This along with the shape of their ears helps you to tell the difference between the two different types.
