Good question! But luckily for me, and sadly for you, the worst injury so far is that I scratched my arm on a piece of metal and that didn’t even require a plaster.
As we are working with potentially dangerous lasers and equipment we take a lot of precautions to be as safe as possible! I have to wear goofy goggles (see my profile pic) which block the laser light, so if ever I did make a mistake and sent the laser towards my eyes I would be safe.
In science personal safety is a very strict issue and we take courses and training to be sure we will not hurt ourselves or those around us
