      It usually takes around a year to design and fabricate the first machine. You might think that is very long but there are many details that need to be worked out.

      The favourite machine that I made was a device that is used for fiber optic communications that was really, really fast. It was the size of a cockroach and it worked at 100,000,000,000 bits per second.
