i would say my biggest achievement is travelling to Mozambique to use my skills as an Optometrist to help the poor. I was given the opportunity to do this when I was studying Optometry in college.

That’s a tough question! If I had to pick one thing, I would say it was earlier this year when I won an award from the Ireland Canada University Foundation which paid for me to travel to a University in Montreal, Canada for 7 weeks. I had such a great time there running experiments and discussing my research with lots of new people and scientists, as well as getting to see some of Canada! Working as a scientist can be a great way to travel to new places.

I have to say that my biggest achievement in science so far is that two months ago I won a competition for my work in an international conference (meeting) about my area of study. If you can think about 200+ people, some v ery important scientists who all work in my research area decided that they liked my work the most out of all the 70 students who showed off their work, this was a very big achievement and great for me to tell employers when I look for a job next year.
