Hey ladybird117,
Dreams seem to originate from brain activity during certain phases of sleep. When we sleep the brain continues to be electrically active, and psychologists and neuroscientists have measured this for years. The patterns of electrical activity produced by the sleeping brain change over the course of sleep, and one stage is known as REM sleep (like the band!) which stands for Rapid Eye Movement. At this stage of sleep, the eyes indeed move, but its also when we dream. The brain is very active during REM sleep and its thought by some scientists that the brain is busy encoding what happened during the day, encoding our memories. The brain actually replays some of the activity it experienced during the day and dreams may result from the odd activation of different parts of the brain. So this might explain why some dreams seem relevant for our lives but it doesnt mean they predict our future. So dreams dont come true usually… but if you think of dreams as wishes then all that remains is to make them come true yourself!
Hope that gives a bit of an explanation!
if you mean ambitions, then if you work hard enough, they can come true, but its up to you.
if you mean something you dream about while asleep, then it depends on how mad and crazy the dream was – anything physically impossible will not come true. so you could record what you dream and then see if it happens.
Hey,
I agree with Michael’s answer; it depends on how wacky your dreams are and whether a combination of hard work and luck allows you to make your dreams come true.
But of course there are some limitations; no matter how hard you work if you’re 5 foot tall you’re unlikely to become a professional basketball player!
