      I think after weeks of research and experiments, when your hypothesis is finally proven correct, that’s the best feeling ever!

      The best result I found was figuring out why COVID spreads faster between people, faster than other viruses before it. It’s because a mutation exists on its outer layer that allows it to recognize different types of cells, so it has a wider variety of cells to infect!

      I did work with colleagues on new type of materials – called electrochromic materials – you can see such material as applied to a window (https://www.isc.fraunhofer.de/content/dam/isc/de/Videos/Elektrochromie-Verdunklungsfolie.mp4). By applying electricity to it, the color of the window changes, blocking some light. This is known and fairly well characterized phenomenon. what is happening inside is that electrons combine with ions and this changes how light interact with the materials – making it opaque or not or of different color. Since light is a form of a wave just like radio waves, we asked if those materials can be used fro a radio waves. And yes, they can! Furthermore they are better than any other material that was used in such application.
