I’ve been a scientist for a long time…my parents would say since I was a kid…I used to have a microscope and chemistry kit and all that but that was just messing around! I’d say I officially started to consider myself a scientist during my time in college when I got to do real experiments…with results you had to measure and interpret. So around 6 years now…wow sounds long when I say it!! 😛

        Hi Mooey and Ice-cream lady!

Well I have loved science since I was quite young because my granny bought me a chemistry kit, and I loved it! However I really fell in love with science in secondary school.. I really enjoyed dissecting the hearts and carrying out cool chemical reactions!

Again like Brian I would only say I have been an actual scientist for 6 years, because you got to do proper experiments.. some even taking 3 or more hours! It’s been fun, and I hope to be a scientist for many more years to come!!

        Hola Mooey and Ice-cream lady!

Gee whizz! Well my dad would say since i was about 7 – On Saturdays, when my mom was at work, i wouldnt stop asking why the sky was blue (which i now know is because of how light scatters) and why grass was green (which i now know is because of chlorophyll) and why leaves change colour – and it used to annoy him that he didn’t know the answer either so we’d look it up together in an encyclopedia and then when my mom got home i used to explain it to her! I used to think it was super cool (because I’m a massive geek) – and I’m sure its the last thing my mom wanted to hear when she got home – but ever since then I’ve really loved finding out how stuff works!

Ive been employed as a scientist now for 7 years (not include the 3 years for my phd) – so I’ve been able to do a lot of really cool science all over the world.

Its never to late to become a scientist – all you have to do is starting asking one question: “why”.

Hope that answers your question – let me know if you want to know more 🙂

I’ve been into science for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I used to love taking things apart and putting them back together to figure out how they worked. I also used to love reading books about science when I was in school!
