        Hi 569newg52,

Yes medicine is a branch of science, it is an applied science.
For example medical microbiology uses biology to improve/gain medical knowledge and inventions.
So while it may not be what people would think is science (maths, biology, chemistry, physics, etc) it is actually a science! Lots of scientific knowledge is involved in medicine! Other areas which are considered science are engineering, computer science, archaeology, etc. All of the areas can been seen in this link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applied_science). just focus on the box to the right!

I hope this answered your question!

        Hi 569newg52

Yeah – medicine is TOTALLY a science! You can train to be a medical doctor and only see patients – but a lot of doctors also do research (with their patients consent of course) – My friend in belfast has found a new, better way to treat prostate cancer, and he’s a doctor doing research too.

As Louise and Matthew already said it’s definitely a science. Like all branches of science there are different areas you can go in to like biomedical science, biochemistry and there are even university courses that specialise in medicinal chemistry.
