I usually analyse data from my experiments – is there any correlation? What are the average parameters? And so on. I might even write some scripts or programs to do it. When I finish analysing, I would write about it for a journal or a conference. Rest of the time I’ll likely spend reading other peoples work in my field and planning the next set of experiments. And I’ll have a lot of tea in between:)
I usually check my emails, and reply to any that need dealt with, or write down a to-do-list from them.
I then prepare lectures, tutorials, write assessments, mark assessments for my students.
I will also read some literature in the field of statistics to see what the current research is doing.
I will also get some data for the project I am working on at that time, and then I will code some models in R to explore the data.
I’ll also do some writing to submit my scientific discoveries to journals in science.
And as well, I have lots of tea and coffee breaks! And chats with colleagues, or attend seminars to keep learning.
