No there are no poisons in foods but some compounds of certain foods are not great for us in large amounts over long periods of time.. everything in moderation though!
There shouldn’t be any poisons or toxins in our food. The companies and the government check that the food is safe to eat. However it can happen that they have and we might get sick, but this is less and less frequent because nobody wants to harm the people with its food.
Like Ciara and Gonzalo have said the foods we eat don’t contain hidden poison or toxins, some foods exist which can be poisonous but they are rare. Things like the liver of the puffer fish contains really harmful toxins or the seeds of the castor oil plant contain ricin which is a really dangerous toxin. Like I said these things are really rare but they do exist!
