It is really important to avoid touching anything which has been touching raw food to cooked food. Also ensure food is completely cooked through before eating (especially important for food like chicken).
You need to make sure food is cooked in the centre of the piece that is why sometimes thermometers are used.
You have to be very careful with the things you use in the kitchen, they have to be very clean. Also very careful with the knives and cutting boards, do not use them for different foods.
