• Question: what is different in our guts than dogs that allows us to digest theobromine.

      The thing is our digestive system (stomach and intestines) gets rid of this theobromine much faster than the dog’s digestive system does. Why is it faster? well there are many complicated reactions and substances than makes it happen, so it is not easy to know. I don’t exactly what is happening only that we digest it faster.

      Cats, rats and mice are the same in that they are susceptible to poisoning from theobromine.. however dogs are the most susceptible to this type of poisoning due to as Gonzalo said the slow digestion.
