Hmm interesting question.. everything in the universe is made of atoms.. us, planets, trees. An atom is the smallest particle of a chemical element that exists.. everything we know is made up of these!

As Ciara said everything we know in earth is made out of atoms. But atoms are only a 5% of the total universe, the rest is a thing called dark matter (25%) and other called dark energy (70%). Cold dark matter is made up by even smallest particles than atoms, while dark energy is an unknown energy present in the universe. Scientist are still trying to figure out with those things really are.
