I have always had an interest from a very young age (maybe 5/6) in the ways things work and why they work this way so I always think I had a scientists mind. I really enjoyed science (especially biology) when I was in secondary school. I also really enjoyed home economics where we learned a lot about the science of food and also nutrition. All through secondary school I thought I wanted to be a teacher but when I was deciding what to do in college I decided I would like to study nutrition and health science as it sounded really interesting to me. So I guess I was about 16/17 when I decided I wanted to get into science.
I’ve always been curious and wanted to know how things worked. When I started my science subject when I was around 12 I knew I liked it a lot but I didn’t decide I wanted to be a scientist. I decided it when I was around 15-16. I knew I liked more the science subjects than any other thing.
I was taught (by my mother, a Chemist) to do experiments at the age of 10…since then I developed an interest for Chemistry. I wanted to study Chemistry and Food Science since I was 15.
