• Question: Why are Americans eggs white and Irish eggs brown

      This is due to the different chicken breeds used in Ireland in comparison to the US.. the different chickens just lay different coloured eggs.

      It is not an American or Irish thing. It is the chicken breed as Ciara has said. There are both white and bronw eggs in Europe, although brown are more common

      it is not only the breed but also the feeds that are used. The feeds can affect the colour of the eggs.
