      If we would be able to stand on a power line like the birds (without touching anything else) we would not be electrocuted either. But don’t ever try to do it because it is dangerous and almost impossible. In the moment we touch other thing we would get electrocuted and as we don’t have wings we need to touch something in order to get there.

      The reason for this is that electric current is a movement of electrons and electrons always follow the “easiest” path. This easiest path is called electric potential. In this case the electrons are not going through the birds feet because both are on the same cable, if the bird were to touch with its wing a second cable (that could have different potential) it would get electrocuted.
