      it depends on the temperature, the higher the temperature the darker the colour!

      Hi Rossy,

      The substance in the flame determines the colour of the flame! Bright orange is due to the presence of sodium-as when sodium is heated it gives a bright orange light… Blue flames are caused by heating carbon… Voilet flames are from hydrogen… Copper gives green/blue flames and burning lithium gives red flames!
